Crash Course Session 3

WEEK THREEYOU ARE DESTINED FOR IMPACT:

We’re almost done so get ready for the graduation party! But remember that the end is not so bad, it is really just the beginning. Serving Jesus is a life-long endeavor.

1. We are called to serve

2. We are gifted to impact others

3. We are designed for community – life in circles, not rows

4. We are blessed so we can serve others – to be a blessing

5. We are blessed to serve WITH others because we are a…

* Fellowship – Acts 2:42

* Building – 1 Peter 2:5

* Family – Ephesians 2:19

* Flock – 1 Peter 5:1-2

* Body – 1 Corinthians 12:27

God wants you to live a life connected to purpose with so much focus that you wake up every day ready for anything God puts in your path. Now that you understand the reason you are on this earth, you have the chance and opportunity to live it out on a Ministry Team. We work together to build God’s house and his Kingdom, and when we demonstrate our obedience and love for God and others, we discover a sense of purpose and gratification in life.

As you prepare to join a Ministry Team, remember…

WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER:

Just of the church building has many rooms, as we serve on our various teams, we are all on the same team! We love cooperative missions and ministry. We know that we can do much more together than we can ever do by ourselves, so we fight for unity.

INTEGRITY MATTERS:

We are representatives of Jesus and this church as we are walking and talking in this world. We understand the gravity of what we do, and who we represent, so we can’t do God’s work half-heartedly. We are committed to this work and the impact for eternity that we anticipate. You can expect us to commit to serving you, as we expect you to honor the commitment you’re making.

HONOR AGREEMENT:

An honor agreement shows that you understand our values as a church (our vision and code), and our statements of faith (our beliefs), our expectations (how we serve and lead). This also helps our leaders to encourage you in your areas of strength and hold you accountable in areas you may be struggling.

This session is all about getting connected and charting your course for fruitful ministry within this community of faith.

The following is not a signed and sworn statement but a guide for understanding that membership and involvement at King’s Grant brings certain expectations.

I VOLUNTARILY AGREE WITH THE VALUES OF KING’S GRANT BAPTIST CHURCH, WHICH INCLUDE THE VISION AND CODE AS DESCRIBED IN THIS COURSE.

I AGREE WITH THEOLOGICAL BELIEFS OF KING’S GRANT BAPTIST CHURCH AND WILL TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY SUPPORT THE LIFESTYLE BELIEFS AS DESCRIBED IN THIS COURSE.

I INTEND TO FULFILL MY COMMITMENT TO GOD AND TO THE MEMBERS OF KING’S GRANT BAPTIST CHURCH BY BEING INVOLVED IN THE LIFE OF THE CHURCH, WHICH INCLUDES REGULAR WORSHIP PARTICIPATION (Gather), SMALL GROUP INVOLVEMENT (Grow), FAITHFUL SUPPORT OF THE ADOPTED BUDGET (Give), AND DISCOVERING WAYS TO SERVE IN OUR COMMUNITY OR CITY AND IN THIS CONGREGATION (Go).

YOUR NEXT STEPS:

One practical way to make an impact in the life of those around us it to understand and adopt as a lifestyle the BLESS Strategy – “How to BLESS Your Neighbors” – to get a full understanding of the BLESS strategy, visit, kgbc.us/bless for video teaching and a transcript of the video sessions. Here is the BLESS outline…

* Begin with Prayer.

* Listen to people to discover their hurts, needs, and concerns.

* Eat – have a meal with a lost person each week.

* Serve – discover ways to serve someone each week.

* Story – share your story (testimony) or HIS story (the plan of salvation).

YOUR NEXT STEPS: (Pathways to Serving)

There are two places to discover the ministry teams at King’s Grant.

1) Visit us online at kgbc.us/pathway

2) Pick up a booklet found in the Information Center.

Begin serving with your team. You will get to know others who are on the same journey and will see how God works through his community of faith. God uses faithful people to build his kingdom. Use the platform God has given you to share your story, shine your light before men, and bring others into the church.

* Which teams appear to be most attractive to you?

* How do you see your wiring as an asset to finding a ministry team?

* What is your greatest concern as you serve on a ministry team?

* Who might you be able to invite to serve with you on your chosen ministry teams?
