Frequently Asked Questions About E-Giving

Q. Why use E-Giving?

A. E-Giving is convenient for you! No need to write checks, carry cash, or prepare envelopes. Donate anytime for any purpose using any computer, or your phone. With optional automatic giving, you can now stay on track with your support of our church even if you are unable to attend services. The church in turn benefits from donation consistency and a reduction in the volume of check and cash contributions that must be manually processed in the church office. E-Giving is also green!

Q. How does E-Giving work? Can I give with a debit card?

A. Contributions are transferred automatically in two ways…

1) You may make your donation from your checking or savings account to the church’s bank account by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network (the same network already used by families to make mortgage and utility payments or to receive payroll earnings and Social Security income).

2) You may add a method of payment using a debit card, making that a one-time or a recurring donation. We prefer that you use a debit card rather than a credit card to make your E-Giving donations.

Q. When will my contribution be debited from my account?

A. A debit to your bank account will occur on the date you specify on the E-Giving transaction. If you choose to set up an automatic donation, the debit will occur on the first banking day of each scheduled period (weekly, monthly, etc.) beginning with the start date you specify.

Q. Is E-Giving safe?

A. We have carefully chosen Vanco Services, an established and highly-regarded company that processes contributions for more than 17,000 churches and nonprofit organizations. Vanco operates with PCI Level 1 Compliance, the highest level of security standard.

Q. How much does E-Giving cost?

A. It costs you nothing to enjoy convenient E-Giving, and it costs the church very little (just pennies and percent per transaction).

Q. What if I want to change or cancel automatic E-Giving?

A. You can change or cancel your authorization at any time by logging in to your E-Giving account or notifying the church.

Q. How can I sign up for E-Giving?

A. [ Get Started Right Now ] The first time you visit our E-Giving webpage, you will be able to set up your e-giving account (or choose to E-Give without setting up an account if you prefer).

Q. Can the church set up automatic E-Giving for me?

A. Yes! Simply complete an authorization form and submit it to the church office, attention Financial Administrator.
