Edenton NC Trolley Tour

THE JOY CLUB – EDENTON NC
The guided tour is one of many fun things to do in Edenton, showcasing notable sites throughout the Downtown Historic District and into the Edenton Cotton Mill Village. Discover what Edenton was like during colonial times, when it served as North Carolina’s Colonial capital. See the restored Victorian mansions lining Edenton Bay and visit the location of the home where Harriet Jacobs hid in her grandmother’s attic as a runaway slave before escaping North via the Underground Railroad.

Learn about the many important people who lived in our town, including signers of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, and one of the first justices of the U.S. Supreme Court. They shaped not only the history of Edenton, but also of our nation.

Thursday September 28
Other interesting sites along the way include the 1767 Chowan County Courthouse, considered the most intact Colonial courthouse in America; the 1886 Roanoke River Lighthouse; and The Cupola House, built in 1758 by Francis Corbin, land agent for John Carteret, Earl of Granville.

Tickets are available at the Penelope Barker Welcome Center (all prices include sales tax): $10 if a group of 10 or more (we have 25 registered).

We’ll find a great place to eat lunch and return mid-afternoon.
