April 20:

The Passage: Joshua 1:1-9

The Purpose: To understand that when we know that God is with us, this knowledge will empower us to live with strength and courage.

The Point: Moses’ time was about up. God chose Joshua to take over the post of commander and chief of Israel. To lead a nation of people in a godly way, Joshua must possess an abundance of worthy character traits, and towards the top of that list are courage and strength. People naturally follow strength. For those under your leadership, whether it’s family or co-workers, to see you as strong and courageous in all the ways that truly matter, God must be with you.

The Real Men series is taught by Rick Burgess, a nationally syndicated radio talk show host, and founder of Burgess Ministries and The Man Church discipleship strategy.

The third Saturday of these five months. Breakfast is at 8am and the study begins around 8:30, and we’re out the door by 9:30.

Here are the topics for the 5 sessions:

1) To examine how God uses times of tribulation to draw us to a closer relationship with Himself.
March 18
2) To learn what it takes to be ready to be used by God at all times by looking at the life of Joseph.
May 20
3) To stand strong in the fight against sexual temptation (or any temptation, really) in order to honor God with our bodies and our lives.
June 17
4) To forgive others as God forgives us, relying on the Holy Spirit to help us reconcile ourselves to those who may have wronged us.
July 15
5) To understand that God allows things to happen to us through which He works together to accomplish His ultimate plan.

This is the second man in the Real Men series, taught by Rick Burgess, a nationally syndicated radio talk show host, and founder of Burgess Ministries and The Man Church discipleship strategy.

Winter Shelter 2023

We anticipate 60 guests each night while the shelter is at King’s Grant. We need classes to provide the evening meals (planning the menu, purchasing food, preparing the meal, and cleaning up the kitchen), generally one class each evening, (take a look below for the classes committed to serving a meal). For early risers, the breakfast team is at work beginning at 4:30 (preparing, cooking, and cleaning up each morning). The church provides the food for breakfasts. Hospitality is a team this year, hosting and ministering and serving our guests while they’re on campus. We will also need a few men to spend the night as a security detail.

No More Going Thru the Motions

Hey Guys, the next Noble Man breakfast is Saturday May 15. In this series called, No More Excuses,” Tony Evans will talk about “No More Going Through the Motions.” Life can get fairly routine but we are called to more than mediocrity.

We’ll eat at 8am, watch the Tony Evans teaching video, then have a discussion on what we heard… we’ll be out the door by 9:30. If you have not already done so, take time to join the Noble Man Group ( so you can keep up with events, dates, and resources I share to help you become the man of God he designed you to be.
